How to get your food brand onto Blinkit
With documents ready, the realistic timeline is 30–60 days to first PO
- 1
Prepare documents
GST, FSSAI, TM application, GS1 barcodes — with name consistency. This is where most applications stall.
- 2
Apply at seller.blinkit.com
Registration → KYC → document verification. Then a Category Manager (CM) is assigned.
- 3
Negotiate terms with the CM
Margin, PLA deposit, launch city-cluster, PO frequency — all set in the NPI sheet. This is where we sit on your side.
- 4
NPI and first PO
SKU approval (3–7 days), Vendor Master Agreement, then a small first SOR PO to test demand.
- 5
Inward without rejection
Printed MRP must equal portal price (a ₹2 mismatch means rejection), every unit barcode-scanned, 60–70% shelf life remaining.
Documents you need
- ✔GST registration (mandatory at any turnover — platforms collect TCS)
- ✔FSSAI license (mandatory for food)
- ✔PAN card and cancelled cheque / bank proof
- ✔Trademark certificate — a filed application (TM-A receipt) also works
- ✔GS1 EAN barcodes (micro MSMEs get an 80% subsidy)
- ✔Product photos — minimum 1000×1000 px, clean background
- ✔Most important: the business name must MATCH on every document — mismatch is the #1 rejection reason
What it costs (reported 2026 figures)
| Commission / margin | Negotiated by category — guides cite 2–18% by price band, + 18% GST on fees |
|---|---|
| PLA deposit (new brands, SOR) | ₹25,000 per SKU per city-cluster — returned as ad credits (12-month validity) |
| Fulfilment / storage | ~₹50 per order fulfilment, ~₹1 per unit per day storage (agency-reported) |
| Payment | Weekly T+7 (new sellers T+14 for the first 30 days) |
| Shelf-life gate | 60–70% shelf life must remain at inward |
| All-in reality | Commission + ads + fees add up to 30–38% of MRP — which is why only 60%+ margin products work |
Straight talk: Blinkit publishes no official rate card. The figures above come from 2025–26 industry reports and agency guides — your actual terms are set in CM negotiation. That negotiation is exactly what we do with you.

Can I list on Blinkit myself?
Anyone can apply on the portal, but nothing goes live without CM approval — and without a contact you can wait weeks for a reply. The process, documents and negotiation are where we add value.
What is the PLA deposit?
New brands on the SOR model pay ₹25,000 per SKU per city-cluster, returned as Blinkit ad credits (use within 12 months). Think of it as pre-paid ad budget, not a fee.
Can we launch in Jaipur only?
Blinkit prices per city-cluster, so a single-city start is generally possible — the final call is the CM's. It's the first thing we push for.
How long does it take?
With documents ready, 30–60 days is realistic. '7–14 day' claims are usually best-case only.
Our shelf life is 4 months — will it work?
Difficult. 60–70% shelf life must remain at inward, leaving you a very small window. Choose SKUs with 6+ months shelf life.
